Member Meeting – Consultation on pay offer for 2022-23
25th May 2022 @ 11:30 - 12:15
The University and Colleges Employers Association have made their final pay offer: a below-inflation pay rise of 3% for most Higher Education staff and between 9% and 3% for those on pay points 3 to 19. With RPI inflation at 9% and your pay only set to go up by 3%, this pay rise is a pay cut. The higher increases on the lower spinal points are partly being proposed to keep pay at legal rates.
Unison have opened a consultation with it’s members regarding the pay offer for 2022-23 and you should have received an email asking you to take part. The consultation closes on Friday 27th May 2022.
Participating in the consultation does not mean you are voting to strike at this stage it will give the union an indication of your thoughts on the pay offer. If there is an overwhelming response to reject the offer there may be a full postal ballot for strike action.
Should the consultation result in a strike ballot and strike action is called your branch is here to support you with the Strike Hardship Fund, which we need your sign off to set up.
Want to find out more? Come along to the member meeting to discuss the consultation and setting up our hardship fund in preparation for any potential strikes.
