The UNISON at the University of Bath Committee is made up of the Branch Officers, Stewards and Health & Safety Reps. Following the AGM held on the 23rd March 2023 your branch committee that were elected for 2023-24 are:

Branch Secretary

Rachel Willis (Social and Policy Sciences)
The main contact person with the wider union who handles Branch administration and is the Union’s senior negotiator with the University.

Branch Treasurer

Nicola Lloyd (School of Management)
Responsible for managing Branch finances, including keeping accounts.

Communications Officer

Emma Milk (International Relations Office)
Co-ordinates Branch newsletters, websites and other media.

Education Co-ordinator

Tracey Stenson Jukes (International Relations Office)
Helps arrange training courses and education programmes for members, stewards, health and safety reps and Branch officers.

Environmental Officer

Alison Borgelin (Social and Policy Sciences)
Co-ordinates the union’s green and environmental agenda in the branch and representing the workforce in discussions regarding the development and implementation of employer environmental policies and practices.

Health & Safety Officer

Steve Nicholson (Campus Infrastructure)
Co-ordinates Health and Safety issues and the network of Health and Safety Reps.

Lifelong Learning Co-ordinator

Rob Cooper (Marketing)
Works with employers to support members with lifelong learning and skills for life.

Membership Officer

Julie Samways (Campus Infrastructure)
Keeps track of the branch’s membership and works to develop recruitment and organising.

Welfare Officer

Warren Cole (Campus Infrastructure)
Supports members seeking welfare assistance with confidential advice and support and if necessary signposting them to help available on a range of issues.

Women’s Officer

Tracey Stenson Jukes (International Relations Office)
Works to promote women’s rights and issues in the workplace.

    Contacts who share Branch and wider union information and updates in their local workplace and highlight local issues to the Branch Officers.

    Vacancies

    There are a number of vacancies on our committee. If you would like to find out more about a position, put yourself forward or nominate a colleague, contact the Branch Secretary.

    Chair
    Facilitates Branch and committee meetings (some are also senior negotiators).

    Equalities Officers
    Works on equal rights issues including sex, race, disability and lesbian and gay issues (there may be up to four per Branch).

    International Relations Officer
    Helps to keep priorities of international members central to the branch and leads on international solidarity activities including campaigns, twinning with sister unions and support for projects abroad.

    Labour Link Officer
    Key contact point for information about regional and national UNISON Labour Link matters and is responsible for coordinating our activities in the branch.

    Learning Representatives
    Encourage and support colleagues with learning in the workplace.

    Retired Members’ Secretary
    Enables retired members of the branch to remain active within the union.

    Young Members Officer
    Advises and helps recruit young members while ensuring their voices have an influence across the union.
